Trans Tasman 2016

A warm up for Age Group Worlds 2017

From 2-10 July, 2016, the Age group Tans Tasman tournament was held at Hobart Aquatic and Leisure Centre. A heartfelt congratulations to New Zealand who took gold in all categories. Hosting this tournament in Hobart provided a rare and fantastic opportunity to trial the venue with an international tournament in preparation for hosting the Age Group World Championships in 2017.

Event organisers are collecting constructive and positive feedback from coaches, players, spectators and volunteers involved in the Trans Tasman tournament. This information will inform the plans for next years championships.

Also trailed during the recent tournament was a love streaming Youtube channel where spectators could watch games on the internet. This channel allowed viewers to stream games live and watch past matches, without charge - making the viewing and spectator process accessible and easy. A crowd funding page to cover the costs involved in filming and uploading is live here. Initiatives such as this are vital for the growth and development of our sport - show your support here.
